Our Guided Learning Experience

Rather than following the outdated and standardized teaching methods used by most schools, Troy Learning Academy follows a Montessori-style education regimen for our students. This means that we develop our students by fostering each individual students’ natural instincts and curiosities.

Learning

All our classrooms and split into “centers”. Each center is designed to intrigue our students in our 6 key developmental areas. Every object in our classrooms is intended to deliver a learning experience to our students, from our sensory table to our art and painting center to our musical instrument center. We believe children learn best through their own investigation and by following their curiosities, and this shows in our classrooms.

Enviornment

  • Rest Time

    Every student is assigned their own bed for up to an hour of nap time a day

  • Toilet Training

    Our teachers work with our students to help them become self sufficient

  • Special Events

    Special school-wide events keep our students excited and engaged

  • Large Group Time

    By playing in large groups, children learn to communicate and expand their social skills

Guidance and Positive Discipline

Thoughtful direction and planning ahead are used to prevent problems and encourage appropriate behavior. Communicating consistent, clear rules and involving children in problem solving help children develop their ability to become self-disciplined. We encourage children to be fair, to be respectful of other people, of property, and to learn to understand the results of their actions.
